I glanced over the NY state regs and didn't see any mention of not being able to attach to a tree. I could've missed it but at any rate, the way Chad has his shown isn't permanent, it's just looped around the tree which won't cause any damage to the tree.

Damage was not my thought, just curious as I understood it we could not attach to trees.

I'm sure they don't want you attaching anything to a tree on public land
