Oh look, Terry made a joke!   :TooFunny:

I think they have lost their way on helping anything except their pocketbooks.  I hope I'm wrong, we need them to repeat their successes of the 70's-90's.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

The sad part of this, I know a well know call maker that loaned them some valuable things, a while back he tried to get them, they couldn't find them, now they will be gone forever.

Don't know any details, so shouldn't speculate, but, honestly, I doubt the collection will end up as part of the WOW proper, but is more likely to be in an exhibit similar to the NRA's firearms collection which is open to the public at no charge.

Let's hope this is the thought process.  I'm pretty certain the debt load that resulted from all the infrastructure they built back when times were good caused the change in direction from focusing on the original mission of helping wild turkeys to that of fundraising to pay for that debt load.

From what I have seen recently, it appears a number of state chapters are now dedicating significant dollars out of their Superfund accounts to original-mission projects that should have been funded by the national organization, in my opinion.  Regardless, it appears that the current declines in turkey populations across the country are apparently beginning to open some eyes to refocusing on that original mission.  Again, let's hope that is the case.   :icon_thumright:

If I were the ones that donated items to the museum I would want them back! I am sure they all thought they would stay in Edgefield for all members to enjoy commemorating the history of the the NWTF and turkey hunting.
