Guns are no good without ammo. Ammo will keep a very long time. My father met my mother in 1969. He quit hunting at that time. Years ago he found several old boxes of paper pheasant loads. He gave them to me. Every few years I will take one of those shells and put it in as my first shot. It fires just as good as any other shell. These shells we left in a basement with no special care for close to 40 years. I stock up on ammo, vacuum pack it, and date it. I just finished last season ammo that was $7.99/box now $24.99. It never goes down it price. It's money in the bank. My only fear is if they change to no lead shot.
