Well I finally broke the ice this year! Been bow hunting this year which has proved to be tough as I could have already killed 3 with the shotgun. I've been really committed to spending more time in the blind this year with a few days I've stayed from sun up to sun down which I've never done in the past. I got in the blind before sun up this morning and had lots of birds gobbling on the roost but at fly down they ventured off with hens. I had several single hens wander by throughout the morning and a group of four jakes then the wind kicked up with gusts up to 30 mph. I wanted to leave but told myself to stay and at about 5 pm these two birds wandered in silent to my decoys and I was able to get both. Pretty good ending to a long day!!! Now to get after a bigger one!! Hope y'all have a great Easter weekend!!
