Heading out for the week

Just about through packing all my gear - leaving to meet a couple of hunting pardners at 2:00 pm, going to turkey hunt all week in Edgecombe County NC. Will report back when I get home. Good luck to everyone hunting this week.

Well, I'm back, hunting four and one half days, seen plenty of birds, been busted a few times, have no bird to show you all as yet. Will be back out two days next week. Been a lot of fun, seen a lot of neat things and looking forward to next weeks hunt. Going to "refresh and refit" over the weekend.

Thanks! Sometimes I wonder, how the hell do those birds figure out what I am going to do - to have a bird brain they are pretty smart. I had a jake fly down from the roost right to my hen decoy this morning - he sure had that "who shot John look" when he figured out that something was amiss - it was my chance to laugh at one of them. He finally glimpsed me at the bottom of a tree about 15 yards away and turned, ran a little, and flew back to the woods.
