It's been interesting. One minute you think there isn't a bird in 1000yds. The next minute your buddy is waking you up with a text about birds in the field.  Haven't heard ONE pre flydown gobble yet. Have not heard but 1 tom gobble during regular season. I did see a hen gobble this morning while hunting with yellow acrons.  She stepped out into the field looking for my calling and gobbled. I turned and said "is that a jake?". She came up in front of us, circled behind into the woods then back out again. That was fun messing with her on my slate. Saw 3 yotes opening morning. Saw at least 12 or more gobblers this morning on 4 farms.  Hope you guys are having fun and expecting a bird every time you go out.

It has been very quiet this year so far in GA. Im used to having killed 2 or 3 by this point in the season. im sitting on a goose egg.  The one i had set up for covehunter only gobbled 3 times.

This has been the best-worst season so far. Had some great hunts, but haven't been able to seal the deal yet. I've heard or seen birds everyday I've hunted. Had to pass on 2 different birds in 2 different sets this weekend due to them hanging up just out of range. Getting ready to hunt about 10 days straight, so hopefully I can correct this

MMUSSO, I'm sure the challenge pics thread it going to grow fast here in the next week or so. I've seen birds everywhere and just when I thought there wouldn't be any birds on our last set, 6 gobblers came up out of a low spot and 4 were stutting all the time and two would puff up once in a while but there was no calling them. They had everything they needed right there, although an hour later after the rain slowed down we came back to that same spot and one strutter had move 300 yds and was working where we had set up the first time.

I'm really in a delima, I had agreed to swap a motor in a tractor to finance a new 870 and a good choke and after 3 weeks the motor arrived. The yard is growning like crazy and the turkeys are strutting. What to do, what to do.  It's a good thing the guy isn't in a hurry for his tractor.
