I just received the press release from Winchester about 20 gauge WLB shells. You can read the full release here

http://allaboutshooting.com/blogs/blog/winchester-adds-a-20-gauge-load-to-the-long-beard-xr-lineup

I should have some of those shells soon and I'll let you know what I see at the range.

Thanks,
Clark

Clark do you have any idea when these might hit the shelves and who will be carrying them? (bass pro, cabelas, etc) Curious what kind of price tag they're going to slap on these things with the great success they've had with the 12's.

I "suspect" that they'll be available shortly after the first of the year, at all those places you've mentioned and more. They'll probably be available at the NWTF Convention & Sport Show in February as well.

It's just a guess but I'd say in the same price range as the 12 gauge shells or slightly less. Both the #5 shot and #6 shot loads have 1.25 oz. of shot and are packaged 10 rounds per box.

There will also be a 2.75" in 12 gauge shell with 1.25 oz of #5 shot.

Thanks,
Clark

You're welcome. We have a number of 20s that we shoot both in competition and for hunting. A new shell always makes things "interesting".

Thanks,
Clark

Would these be any different from the Rooster XR?  I've been shooting the XR's in my old A5 with great success.

Thanks for the info the 20g WLB.  Great news!

Good question. There may be some differences in velocity, etc. The WLB is only available in #5 shot however, where the "Rooster" is available in #4, #5 and #6 shot.

Thanks,
Clark
