Gooserbat

Living here in Oklahoma I can easily take a Rio and an Eastern.  Here are a couple of specimens from 2016.

This Eastern was 22# 7oz 10.75 beard and an 1" and a chipped 7/8 spurs.
Nothing like seeing a kids eyes light up upon hearing that first gobble.

And the Rio

21# 4oz. 1 1/4 spurs and 7.5 whiskers
Nothing like seeing a kids eyes light up upon hearing that first gobble.

Congrats.  Beautiful toms.  I like that half-slam idea.

Noice!  How far apart in the state were they?

These were 5hours apart.  Now you can hunt both subspecies only a good hour apart in their natural native range.  The kicker is gaining access to property that holds birds.  The farther south you go the farther west you'll find Easterns.
