Long Wait Pays Off For This Buck

I spotted this buck two weeks ago on the 3rd day of muzzle loader season here in VA.  It was 4:30 in the afternoon and he came out of a pine thicket and walked across the top of a field out of range.  I knew he was a 10 pointer because I watched him through my binoculars and counted every point on his head.  I decided right then that I was going to hunt this buck hard.  I put up a ladder stand the next day right at the edge of a big grown up field that joined this pine thicket.  Over the two week period I passed on 9 different small bucks and numerous does waiting for this buck.  This past Wednesday I got in the stand at 2 o'clock and decided to sit until dark.  At 4:45 three does walked out of the thicket right past my stand.  I watched them walk all the way across the grown up field into another thicket.  After about 15 minutes I seen the three does come busting out of the thicket with this 10 pointer and a smaller buck behind them.  After making approx a 150 yard shot I dropped him in his tracks. I put in around 50 hours total, sitting waiting on this buck.  Good things come to those who wait!
