In my quest to master the mouth call I've come to be pretty proficient at the two reed "old boss hen" cut style call. I'm able to yelp, cluck and purr, I've been able to call both toms and hens to my calling. My question is that I've noticed some calls are easier for me to use than others, after examining the calls themselves I've notice that the calls that are easiest for me to work are ones that have the latex pulled kinda tight. What is the difference between tight and looser tension of the latex?

The short answer is tone and pitch.  I might add that when I build boss hen style calls I pull more back tension than I do with other styles.
Nothing like seeing a kids eyes light up upon hearing that first gobble.
