Finally got one close enough!!!!!

Had this bird commit right off the roost but his hen led him off for a hour or so, then left him and he wanted more. But he circled me and wound up ten yards directly off my right side. Spun on him when he strutted the other way and he spooked. Called him close enough alright, but knocked him down at35-40 yards, only to never see him again, jumped up and was gone. Looked for 1.5 hours and never found him.

That's tough. But it is part of hunting.
How much longer do you have to hunt?
You are on birds and bringing them into range, just have to have it all come together.
Could be your next trip out.
