Got a report from my buddys cousin who runs the family ranch in SW Kansas where I am heading this weekend. He said there are very few birds, looks like they did not handle the drought from last year very good. We usually see 50-70 birds on the ranch over a weekend, this spring he recalls seeing 4 birds, not good for 11,500 acres. Well, we will still be chasing them this weekend, looks like we might be spending more time at the prairie dog town that we anticipated. After hearing news went hunting this afternoon close to home. Had a small tom work up to 30 yards, if he would have raised my score I would have taken him, but I let him walk. After them again in the morning.
