Well after chasing the same bird for three days and falling in the creek the other day I decided to go try another piece of ground and leave that miserable bird alone for someone else to deal with. I went out yesterday afternoon and this morning but unfortunately there were no birds to be found. My season actually runs one more day but since I am as some of you may know a 38 year old college student and a full time contractor I need to cut my season a little short and re-focus my attention. I have to finishing up a couple of big papers I have due this week and regain some order with my guys at work. I am hoping to be able to pick up an extra tag for a different area and be able to get out and hunt from the 16th through the 23rd of May.

Good luck to all you guys that are still slaying them. I love seeing all the pics of dead birds even though none of them are mine. It just gives me a little more drive to get through the semester and get things in order at work so I can take the whole week off and try to get into the birds in a different area when all the nasty old hens are on the nest.

Some season are deff harder than others.... Glad you got to get out in the woods this spring chase em and enjoy Gods wonderful creation! If you find a bird just stick with him, sooner or later he will mess up... I know it can be frustrating at times, just hang in there! Good luck with finals and the end of the semester!!

No reason to say sorry. I am sure you tried your best.
I felt the same way you do know last season, I did not get a bird or even close.
That's why they call it turkey hunting and not turkey killing.
Even though I blanked last year I did learn some things and gain valuable experience. Some birds are just tougher than others.
I hope you get another chance to get out. And trust me, next year you will be extra motivated.

I dealt with 3 tough years in a row, I feel this year is a payback.  Good to see some bird numbers back up here in NE KS.  Stick with it, all it takes is one day to make a great turkey season. :cowboy:
Great job on the calls, have been a lot of birds taken with them.  It also made me decide to build my own after using it, before I never used anything but a mouth call.  4 days after getting the call done, I used it to call in a bird for my dad.
