The wait is killing me

Oh my gosh this wait is killing me. I log on here and see all the birds that everyone is taking and it is like pouring slat in a wound. I am finally down to just five days to wait. I think I will go to the range one last time this weekend and blow off some steam. Maybe even though my vest is already loaded and ready to go I'll pull everything out and run all the calls again and double check I have everything (hahaha like anyone ever leaves for opening day fully prepared). Good luck to everyone that is hunting now. Pile em up.

I am having the reverse reaction. This is our last weekend, and the season is over.
Man that sucks. You look forward to the season, you scout, buy all kinds of new gear, you scout, practice with the mouth calls, you scout, you pattern and clean your gun, and scout some more.

And then you only have 5 weeks to hunt. That's only 5 weekends. That's only 10 days. And that depends on which quotas you where drawn for, how long you have to hunt the good WMAs, the rest of the time you are competing with everyone else on the WMAs that allow anyone to hunt.

I am feeling the same way right now.  I am saving my next tag to hunt on my buddy's 12,000 acre family ranch in SW Kansas, he can not go until the weekend of May 5th.  Looking forward to blasting some prairie dogs also.  Still been scouting this week, working hard to get my bro, dad and nephew a bird, will help me pass the time.  Look forward to seeing a big northern bird from you in the kill thread.

"Fully Prepared?" haha I was taking my gf sat morning to kill her first. I told her first shot was her if she missed I would roll him. Well low and behold I forgot my gun at home haha couldnt have shot if I had callend one in lmao

I can't leave well enough alone. I went and bought another choke today so instead of going to the range Saturday to just shoot some I am going to do some more patterning. My son is going with me and he is going to bring his BB gun. Should be a good day and a good way to pass a little time.
