I checked some private land today and never heard nothing,or see any sign. Looks like public land for me. I left my scouting camera just in case there is some movement between now and opening day.

April 25 can't get here fast enough. I went out to a new piece of land I plan to hunt this year just to take a listen. Oh my gosh there were birds in every direction. It was hard to keep track of which bird was which but there was at least seven different gobblers firing of on the roost this morning. Two of them were for sure roosted on the private land next door so I am going to go see if I can get permission to hunt that land later today.

I am going to take my boys (7 and 9) out later this morning to a piece that I hunted last year to see if we can find any sign there. They have been up for about 45 minutes already had breakfast and are heading out to get their rooms cleaned so we can go. If I didn't know any better I would think they were excited.

The birds are finally starting to move around more here. In just the last two days I have seen three different flocks on my morning commute. Two of them in areas I have never seen before. Looks like I will be knocking on some doors in the next few days to get some access.

Season opens for us volunteers Saturday! Headed out in the morning to listen, think dad has great chance to bust one and I'll have the gf with me trying for her first as well gonna be a great weekend!

Good luck with the birds everybody.  Finally found a few birds where I can hunt, and a few places where my nephew can hunt only during the youth season.  Not gonna be the easiest birds to get, but taking him out on Sunday to see if we can get it done.

Birds were hammering this morning. Checked the spot where me and the gf are going in the morning and the birds have move a little piece  but still there gobbling on the ground too. Swung by and checked a spot for josh and had a bird gobble twice on the ground. Finally swung through and checked on dads bird and he wasnt in the field but there was two in the holler behind the field hammering at every single little sound. They were defiantely hot!
