Strut Stoppers Scouting Report

I can't wait a couple of weeks to go.
Lets hear how your scouting is going and how your season is looking.
I went out last weekend to listen for some Gobblers, in one of the spots I have to hunt, but did not hear any. I am in Florida and the weather has been warm, 70's and 80's everyday, but still not hearing any birds. They should be gobbling soon.
I am going out again in the morning to another area I have a couple of hunts at this year and see if I can locate a few gobblers.

Have 4 big gobblers lined up, in a pasture they use year around. The landowner watched me hunt every day I was there this fall. When I took my bird in December, she was on the phone letting her husband know. My dad knew before I had a chance to send him pics. Ever since then, she scouts and tells me the time of day they are there, need to get her a good gift. Birds could be starting before too long here, mildest winter I can remember, probably less than 30 days of ponds frozen all waterfowl season, 50s and 60s upcoming week, ready to get em knocked down.

Went out this morning. I had nothing but bad luck.
I could not get into the woods until after daylight, a hunter never came out of the woods. They had an all night search, helicopters and everything. He was within half a mile of the area I scouted.
Ends up he left last night and never checked out. They had over a dozen people looking for him a couple of helicopters. Some people just don't think.
Needless to say the birds where not gobbling. I did find some pretty woods, tracks, scat and dusting areas.
Will try to get out again next weekend. My sons youth hunt is 2 weeks from today, I CAN NOT WAIT!

Heard nothing and saw nothing this morning. Temp had dropped 30 deg from yesterday and the wind was pretty strong.
Glad it wasn't one of my spots we were scouting

I am not sure how the story got so mixed up. They found that hunter dead, who was lost in the woods I was scouting Saturday, today.
Apperently he died from medical issues,l I think diabetes.
I am going to try and make it back out there this weekend and locate some birds.
My hunting buddy checked another area we hunt, but the birds where tight lipped.

Went out this morning and heard 3 gobble on the roost. Seen all kinds of crap and scratching, and one dust bowl. Looking good in that spot. Winter flock still not busted good there though. Had those three gobblers roosted good ways off the big hen flock.

We just got a whole nother dose of winter up here. I won't be out scouting for at least two but most likely not for another three weeks here. Birds are hanging pretty tight yet.

Hope everyone is staying safe with the weather. Had our episode a few nights ago. Went from 70 degrees yesterday to heavy snow this morning. More birds than I remember seeing in a while, hope I can get permission to hunt a few of them.

Went out this morning again, stil no birds gobbling. The check station lady said, that no one is hearing them gobble.
It is very strange with the warm weather we are having. Did find some fresh tracks and a beautiful bottom land to hunt. Put out a camera, but will not be able to check it until the first day of my hunt.
Might try a different peice of property tomorrow.
