J.D. .....what brand shells you shootin? Ive got an 870 with a trueglow choke the put many a gobbler's to rest! now i know not all 870 trueglow combo's are gonna shoot the same...but i was happy with mine......still got it for others to borrow....i just decided to go to an automatic. my personal opinion is that the proper shell can make a big differance!

You might try the remigton nitro turkey loads in #5 if you are useing lead. I have a old winchester pump that loves them. I will guess those shells and gun have killed 10-12 birds. All one shot kills and a few misses[my fault]

I used to shoot the remi nitros #5 in my mossberg 535. It loved them with the factory choke. It will drive you nuts trying to find the right combo lol

I have a Mossberg 535 with the SSX choke. I shoot Hevi shot 3 1/2" # 6s with great numbers.
I wanted to try the #7s this year, but deer season ran a little longer this year., so I never got to try them.
