Well Guys,

It looks like the final 2011 contest rankings placed the Head Hunters at number 13 of 17 teams. Not a bad showing considering our newbies, 3 MIA team members, one bird that didn't make the deadline and of course a couple starter sized birds (mine included) in the mix.

Shotgundave took top team honors with his double beard beast, but coon certainly laid down the gauntlet early on with his first-blood, big hooks, monster typical, a monumental hunting effort and by far one of the weirdest kill adventure stories ever.  "I was both frightened and amazed" will be forever emblazoned in my mind as I picture coon battling his reincarnated zombie devil bird to the death.

It should also be officially noted that the Carolina Boys whupped the Hoosiers in our intra-team regional "competition"!

I really enjoyed being part of the Head Hunters team, getting to know you guys, and being able to share in your hunting adventures.  I'd like to give a big thanks to Odessa, gopherT, ncturkey, and Ontariogobbler for helping out with some of the team chores along the way.

ps. And Nate we want to see a six month picture of little Cooper the future Head Hunter!

Thanks Lance for all the work you did. I think we did pretty good as well. I forgot all about the Carolina Boys vs the Hoosier contest. I did not even rib them any. Well here is one. :goofball:

Lance, thanks for serving as our leader.  I enjoyed getting to know all the other team members (as much as you can know someone via the internet) via postings here on our team site - it makes the board seem like a friendlier place to be a part of a team like the Headhunters.
"I admire a good turkey hunter chiefly because such a man displays qualities that we usually associate with pioneer America-patience, enthusiasm, woodcraft, game sense, and a quiet hardihood undaunted by rain, by cold, by long tough miles, by disappointment."
