Good luck to you and hope you have a good hunt

It's been super dry down here. Some places especially the south are in severe drought conditions. Good luck!

Sending you good vibes Zelmo!!

I just returned home from some public land and luckily, the ball rolled way my this time.

4 years ago I killed a Jake on the second to last day. It's a long story but it was accidental after getting so exciting thinking the gobbler is been hunting finally broke and came in.

This year, I called this one off the roost after being really down on myself for missing him the day before!

Anyway, I know what kind of pressures you're feeling! I hope it's fruitful so you can relax on those swamp thoughts!!!

Attack it with ferocity and go get him!!

Thanks for the encouragement, guys, it will help me focus. I am painting myself into a corner. I shot my gun yesterday, dam thing is dead on, there goes one excuse. The new 8.5 load is patterning great , there goes another excuse. I am running out of excuses. I hope my boots leak at least, lol. Getting excited, I appreciate the good vibes. We will see. Z

Be safe .... helpful advice is to take a look at the area map that your hunting ...look at the most difficult area, farthest from roads trails etc.., walk , swim , or climb ...and go there , - dont bother with the low hanging fruit close spots

As my father always said ...its not the turkeys that are the problem

....it's the people

With the FWC closing down several of the WMA's for non residents the first 9 days its going to squeeze those folks into the other WMA's ...the end result will undoubtedly be added pressure ....so get as far away from roads and trails as possible

I am now raking bets that the FWC will likely close the entire state WMA's non quota  turkey season down for non-resident very soon

I share the same thoughts as Shannon just expressed. With it being sooo dry lately, those harder to get to spots are now easier. Where I  hunted opening day, not too many braved that area before. This year about a dozen trucks ripped right past me what would normally be 3' of water. The birds in my area have been a little more vocal than usual so that's a plus. The upside of being dry is the skeeters aren't nearly as bad.
