Quote from: bwhana on March 02, 2026, 11:02:12 AMI only use the Butler Creek Featherlight sling now.

I have been eying this sling for a while, how does it ride?  Stays put?

That ultimate sling looks good as well.
It stays put without moving as well as any sling I've used (better than the claw styles), which is most. I am gear guy and have to try them all!The thing I like most is this is the lightest one I've found. Now that I'm using the Rossi TT 410 as my primary gun, I don't even use a sling since it weighs 3lbs and I just carry it instead and used it half of last season that way.
This sling looks interesting. Does it adjust quickly and does it adjust far enough to pull the sling tight to the gun if needed?

I've found many slings that adjust easily but when tightened down they are still floppy ( due to their overall length)That is one aspect of the quake I love, it cinches down as tight as you can get it on shotguns.

It easily adjusts and stays tight when cinched up in hunting mode. Another benefit here is it has bigger holes for air to pass through so it is cooler in hit turkey weather.

I hunt with a sling on my rifle --- that gets an old military Garand sling --- less is more.

I've never used a sling on a shotgun.

Quote from: paboxcall on March 02, 2026, 03:10:37 PMThe slim version of the claw is on my rifles...but my single shot turkey chaser has a Butler Creek neoprene which is about as comfy as a sling can get.

Love that Single Shot Turkey Chaser John, beauty of a gun for sure...

Claw contour for me, doesn't slip, and easily tightens, so no dangling movement..

The perfect sling is no sling at all. And more often than not at home at least I go slingless . But.... The first time I started climbing rock in other places ... is when I realized .... Yeah a sling ain't so bad . I to use a claw . My only complaint is can't get it off the shoulder fast enough in a pinch it's so grabby . It has cost me a bird ... a couple times.
