So here we are on 2/3/26. North New Jersey got hit hard 2 Sundays back. Just starting to warm up and now another Brutal cold snap for this coming weekend,I hear.
Turkey population just starting to come back up in Sussex County. Hoping this unusual Brutal Winter does not knock off alot of Turkeys.
I read on njwoodsandwaters that alot of guys are putting out Big Corn Piles to help out the Deer. I am hoping the Turkeys can also get in on this Corn Bounty and make it to this Spring. Worst Winter in at least 10 years or so.

It's the same here bro, 22" of snow pack here and hasnt been above 28 at my house in weeks. We might get that break you are having this weekend after you do. I am looking forward to hitting some trails here to check on the damage. The farmer up here does a lot for the critters around his farm. I help when I am around but old timers like him are disappearing. Good luck and God Bless. Z

Corn piles in winter for deer from my understanding is no good. Deer stomach change to digest available food be it soft food of browse.
That brimg said the snow is diminishing a bit but bear in mimd years back we had lots of snow and lots of turkey. Its not the snow imo. They're all concentrated around areas they can get to. Up on barn roofs, trailers, pitching down to horse paddocks or cow pastures where theres plenty of food and the big animals knocked snow down
