Why so much drop on Turkey buttstocks? Is it just me?

So as the title says i'm curious whats up with shotgun manufactures and stock designs.  Are they just disconnected from the consumers?  Are they just that dumb?  Even rifles manufactures seem to build guns with stocks that support iron sights which not many of us use any more.

From reading post on here it seems that most are shooting TSS loads now which means patterns are tighter making an optic more appealing.  But when going to a optic you need your head higher as the sighting position is raised so obtaining a good cheek weld becomes more difficult when using the more common low drop style buttstock.  There are a few manufactures like Winchester with the Long Beard model that are starting to pick up on this but most like Retay are still in the dark years.  By the way I love my new Retay Turkey but hate one thing and its the buttstock (to low).

So is it just me or are they just not in tune with us hunters / consumers?  Or maybe just to dumb to know better?  Thoughts?

No its a common issue.  I like the GodaGrip Shotgun Wedge cheek risers, they do help.

My most recent turkey gun is a Browning Cynergy Ultimate Turkey that solves the cheek weld issue by having an adjustable comb height.  Unsure why other companies don't offer that option as I find it ideal.  I know there are several aftermarket options, like I mentioned above the GodaGrip Shotgun Wedge works great.

The milled-out receivers on some of the new Mossberg's are a step in the right direction. I also have a 940 Pro that comes milled and a Holosun Red Dot from the factory.  No trouble with cheek weld with it.

Just put some foam on the comb at desired height and use vet tape to hold it. Works like a charm and would allow you to set height for any optic. That's who I think they don't put comb too high. Easier to bring it up than down.
