I am fairly decent on a trumpet and have been using them for 15 years now. I have a Permar Gobbler Trumpet and wanted to see if anyone had a sound file of them playing one so I can gauge my calling. The Gobbler Trumpet is new to me and takes a different draw than some of my regular trumpets.

Thanks

I just got one from Ralph last week.   Haven't tried it out yet though.

I make quite a few gobbler wingbones and gobbler cane yelpers to do gobbler and jake yelps and clucks.
The technique of calling should be pretty similar to what you're doing on any yelper. The call itself is designed to have a deeper tone and to have a slightly slower roll over. You will be pulling a little more air because of the (generally) bigger internals and length, but just remember to draw just as easily as you do on your hen yelpers. I'm sure you will get the hang of it quickly.

Gobbler calls are so unique in achieving those sounds of gobbler / Jake ... IMO
