Super windy day, calling sporadically with the trumpet, heard one single, full gobble close. Less than a minute later bright red head pops over the ridge, nail him. Run up and grab the legs and he starts twisting, felt the button spurs rub my hand. Turkey one for me of the season

Honorary trumpet birds, 8 hens called in plus one Jake that my son missed. The next day 5 gobblers that came in 5 minutes after my son wanted to get out of his blind during youth season. Another trumpet bird start to almost finish for a friend I'm mentoring at work. Due to time restrictions we left him gobbling just out of range.
