Howdy folks!
My name is Will and I am from southeast VA, still hunt there since that is where I know landowners but am living in central VA. Currently 30 years old and have been hunting turkeys since I was 8 with my dad. I grew up being an active member of Jakes/NWTF (Tri-County Longbeards) and met lots of nice folks through that who emphasized ethics and taught me about the old school way of hunting turkeys. My dad and I will be hunting our 22nd season together this year.
In anticipation of Spring season here in Virginia, I've been lurking these forums heavy for the past couple of months and decided to take the plunge of being a poster! Have really enjoyed reading about turkey hunting books on here, hearing information about calls/call makers, and of course browsing the classifieds. Calls and call making always got my attention as a boy and is something I'm looking to get more into! Nothing like browsing the booths and talking to the good folks who put the time and love into their craft.
I have a love for documenting the history of this sport so that it can be passed on to the next generations and think this is the perfect place to do that.
