snake chaps

Where can i find some snake chaps that are snake proof/resistant all the way up? The chaps at the Savannah Bass Pro are called "snake chaps", but on line it states that they are only snake "proof" up the the knee. We have both canebrake and diamondback rattlers and the latter get pretty big.

I don't know why, maybe it was trip to Oklahoma last year, but I have been more concerned about snakes in the last year and a half than ever before.

In researching snake boots/gaiters/chaps the consensus of opinions I have seen indicates that the VAST majority of strikes are in the ankle/shin area. Very rare cases above the knee from what I have read, heard and seen. Granted, all my information came from the internet.

I'm not trying to convince you that what you want to do is wrong, far from it. Just presenting a little research tidbit.

Not sure if they have full pant but check out turtleskin and I got some knee high gaiters from listo provisions for my son that are nice and I thought were a good price

These folks make snake and other chaps very similar if not identical to the old Wick's chaps. Nylon, so they might be a little noisy for turkey hunting.

Chaps are typically brutally hot and uncomfortable. After switching to tall snake boots, I will never go back to chaps.

I have been using turtle skins gaiters for a long time. I don't walk in the woods without them. They also make chaps I believe. I'll probably get bit above the knee today but I think the risk/reward benefit is too small to wear chaps. Anything snake proof is going to be warm or hot. I tried snake boots forever before switching to the turtle skins about 15 yrs ago and never looking back.
If you do go with turtle skins my only problem is the elastic at the bottom. I take a razor blade and make a small incision on the inside and take something and pull the elastic cord out and cut it. Then they just ride on top of my boots comfortably. If you get some and wear them a little you'll quickly realize what I'm talking about.

Turtle Skins are legit. Pricy but you wont know you are wearing them and don't have to worry about where you step.
