Tighter Choke for Mossberg SA20 Tactical Turkey?

I'm using Apex #9's with a Carlson .565 but am also going to try some 8.5 Ninjas. I would like to tighten my pattern up a bit. Does anyone have suggestions for which specific choke to try? Also, will a shotgun typically shoot tighter or more open patterns with bigger shot sizes? I'm wondering if the 8.5's might shoot a little tighter or a little wider out of the same choke compared to the #9's.

Thank You!

I got better patterns for my 9s in my SA 20 when I switched from a Carlson to a Truloc. I don't remember the constriction change though.

IC .555 and .562, tighter choke does not always equal tighter or better patterns.  I shot a .555 IC for years, it bulged or something, IC replaced it and the new choke did not shoot nearly as good!

Currently shooting a Patternmaster code black .565

Started shooting a rob Robert's raptor turkey choke a couple years ago. No going back. Have shot 8.5's and 9's with pretty much identical results

I shoot IC .555 with Apex Ninja 8.5 with great results.

In 20 ga using T#9s, I get the best results with .575-.585 constriction

My sa-20 shoots best with the .575 Carlsons. Using Apex #8. Certainly wouldn't want it any tighter as I have to be right on with this set up. Good luck!

To be quite honest I do not know. He only makes one constriction per make/model of gun as far as I know. Sorry I can't give a better answer

I I think the Mossberg SA20 is essentially the same gun as the Weatherby SA459.  I've got the best and tightest results with a Sumtoy .562 choke using Apex TSS #9's.

Went out yesterday with my buddy to check red dots. He bought an SA 20 tactical turkey wiith an Indian Creek .555.  Great pattern at 40 yards with Apex Ninja 8.5 TSS.

Amen to this. I generally always get my best results with a .570-.585 constriction, and generally it is more in the .575-.585 range as Ranman stated.

My SA-20 shot the best with a TruLock .585
