Great Nephew success!

I said on another post, every day is youth season for him (he's 14) and we did not get out for youth (weather). 

His pappy (my brother) had to go back to town so he stayed with me and hunted. A good rain came through and was supposed to be done by morning.  It was not so we sat under camo umbrellas until the rain broke (no lightning).  As soon as the sky turned blue the gobbling started (about 8:30).  By 9:30 we had a half gobble working to us along with hens.  At about 10 he says "Don't move".  I see nothing and see where he is looking and sure enough a male bird is in the thick bushes across from  the little lane we were watching.  I finally see it and confirm it is a legal bird.  While watching to see if it will present a shot, he says "Left".  I look over and here comes a gobbler in full strut. The hens had been answering us, but not the gobbler.  I tell him to shoot (I have a very clear shot, but don't even have the gun up).  He says he does not yet have a shot and I tell him to take his time.  He finally shoots and down he goes.  Chaos erupts as the hens we could not see behind him take flight, so out of habit I bring my gun up and see they are all hens.  As I am bringing the gun down I see the other bird staring at us at about 30 yards, I can see head and neck and that is good enough, so I squeeze. What started out as his hunt added a bonus for me.  We went back to camp and had fresh fried turkey.  Neither were trophies, but a double was to us.  I'll put a smiling pic of him in the next post.

That's a smile.   He was shaking afterwards and we had a few high fives and even a huge hug.
