Nothing like the relaxed enjoyment of a beautiful mountain morning after a successful hunt (it was a little too early to break out the real celebratory stuff...  ;D  )

The wife's 1st Longbeard in 2023. A double taken in 2011 when we got back to the truck. Another double taken in 2022(11yrs later) about 75yrds from where the birds in the 1st picture were killed. Another double taken on rainy November morning in 2013.

My Mexico Gould's. He now resides in my Man Cave.
Then 2 Lowcountry gobblers taken with one shot (back in the day when gobblers were plentiful and it was legal).

Eastern with a "young-un"

The pup was played out when I got back with the turkey. He had a lot of interest in it but just ran out of gas and fell asleep.

One of my favorite birds. He bossed a trio of toms around for a few days. When I got in the right place, two shakes of a gobble shaker brought him running, beard swinging back and forth straight to his demise.

That's a great picture, but that turkey liver gives me the heebie jeebies. I tried frying a fresh one one in bacon grease once, first bite I almost threw up on my stove top.

Dougas

Heart;good
Liver;bad
Gizzard;good for turkey jewels and nothing more

Don't recall what I did with the liver but we made a giblet stuffing with the rest of the innards~
