I have an H&R 3.5 12 guage turkey gun with interchangeable choke tubes. I'm getting back into turkey hunting after a long 20 year break. I'd like to get this kickin mule set up for some great patterns using longbeard xr in 3". Has anyone else had any experience with some good tube/shell combinations for this particular gun? I'd really like to install some type of red dot or scope also but I'm not really sure what my options would be as far as having it drilled and tapped.

Got a NEF pardner that shoots longbeards well with a Pure gold 670 or Kicks in 665

Give Sumtoy a call, they will get you up and running.

This one has an IC .660, rifle sights drilled/tapped by Sumtoy, and shoots 2.75" TSS straight 8s from Foxtrot.

A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409

I like the looks of that! When you say IC choke are you referring to Indian Creek? I was told it's not possible to drill and tap these guns but that definitely blows that one iut of the water! Thanks for the replies everyone

The 10 and 12 have enough metal to drill/tap, I think the 20s were thinner. Search these forums and there should be discussions about that exact issue. And yes, Indian Creek.

I choked a 20ga with Tru-choke threads.

I've had a 20 and 410 drilled and tapped and threaded. Sumtoy

Longbeard 3 inch magnum 6s and a sumtoy 665 has done a great job for me for several years.

And for anyone wondering, if you have a 12GA Full barrel, you don't need to have it choked for it to be a deadly turkey gun. These guns pattern extremely well with TSS and Longbeard loads with just a Full barrel.
