This has been a long frustrating spring. I've called in many jakes, but no gobblers in range.Lots of ticks!! I have 2 days left, and I need some luck.My cousin got a nice bird mid season, made a great shot.

Good luck, I hope you get your gobbler

No matter how much experience someone has, there are always circumstances that come into play that can makes things harder we think they should be...or expect them to be.  When that happens, the only thing to do is to keep at it and not give up. Those "last minute" birds are some of the most satisfying.

A couple of friends and I are contemplating plans to come up to Montana next spring.  Your tick comment kind of surprises me.  I wouldn't have thought they would be a problem up there.

I do like that you are seeing a lot of jakes, though.  If we make it up there, I am hoping those jakes have turned into a bunch of clueless two-year-olds.  ;D

Hang in there. You never know when your luck will change and it can happen in an instant.

Through the years persistence has killed a lot of birds for me. Keep going until you can't... Good luck!
Thanks to all who share this great passion and the wealth of knowledge you bring to this board.

First of all ticks are better than grizzlies. Second, you called in some Jakes, that's good, keep at it there's definitely a big guy in the mix. Remember watch out for wolverines, and good luck! 😊

The biggest gobbler I ever shot in 20+ years of hunting was on the last day of the season. Keep at it!

This is a two thumbs down situation!

The ticks are pretty rough this year already.. I work in a veterinarian office and the amount of flea and tick prevention products they have sold already is very surprising

Yes, I always am persistent in my hunting.I have gotten close, missed with my bow opening day.Missed a long shot half way through the season. I let at least 10 jakes pass.
