If one was to buy a precut pot call (let's say hypothetically they're near perfect dimensions for a call). What surface and sound board combo is best, for the following surfaces.

Glass
Black Slate
Aluminum
Copper
Ceramic

I assume thickness of surface and sound board plays a factor as well.

To my ear, hard to beat glass over glass, or slate over glass. I prefer a slightly smaller sized pot too, gives me more control over the call.
A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409
Over time...they come to learn how little air a good yelper actually requires. ChesterCopperpot

I just made up a few of these myself and did several different combos and ceramic over 3" copper in a zebra wood pot is by far my favorite.

The pre-made pots that I have seen are actually really close to perfect. Pedestal height is very important for my ear. Wood type is also a concern as far as pot bottom thickness.
Have a good one and May God bless y'all
