Yall send me some mojo.............last weekend coming up and I need to score one more , a longbeard. They are still acting messed up here. I got on 4 different birds Saturday. Still only gobbling 3 or four times. The one that did gobble more than that would come and then stop 100 yards or so away then retreat and circle. Tried going silent, tried moving, these public land  birds aint buying it this late in the season. Didnt have a partner to try piggy backing. They are avoiding the hills and staying in the swamps were you cant see but 10 yards.

This has been the toughest/ strangest seasons for me in 19 years of turkey hunting. Some how I have killed 3, missed one, and called 2 for others on top of all the near encounters. Have had about a half dozen longbeards come running in only to stop just out of gun range or start to circle in thick stuff when normally they come right on in.

There is plenty of good public land and plenty of birds. Pack up last week in March next year and come make it happen. Not complaining about killing turkeys Im just used to killing 4 or 5 longbeards a season and then guiding others and watching two or three more die a year. I can legally harvest 8 gobblers with my SC and GA license. Havent had to shoot jakes in a while, just would like to get a longbeard that will upgrade my score and help the team as my last bird in GA .

Get your GA license next year with like a week left of our season and then you can get two seasons out of one license. Our licenses run one calendar year from date of purchase. Get it late season next year where you can hunt the last week or so, and then the next season you can hunt all the way up to expiration date. Make sure you time it so it will still be active after the alabama season for a few weeks, then you got a two for one. This year is odd, but we normally kill a lot of birds late season here.
