I've been using Long Beard XR 3" #6 since I started turkey hunting using a Beretta A400 and Carlson's 0.660 12ga. This has been a great match up from my pattern testing and hunting since. Been super happy with the setup overall.

I can't find these shells around my area at the moment so picked up a box of 3-1/2" #5 instead.  I know my pattern will be a little tighter with this round but I'm wondering how the pellet count compares in the shotshell:

Long Beard XR 3" #6 1-3/4oz VS Long Beard XR 3-1/2" #5 2oz total pellet count?

From what I can tell the 1-3/4oz #6 is around 369 pellets from what i found but I can't find anywhere what a 3-1/2 #5 2oz would have for pellets...

I guess I could start counting but I thought a turkey expect here may know this curious answer.

I don't really want to go down by 50-100 pellets in count because the odd time I feel I need every one I can get.

Lead #5: 173/oz x 2 oz = 346
Lead #6: 222/oz x 1.75 oz = 388

Stepping up to a 2 oz #5 load shouldn't affect your pattern very much. Pattern one shell, hunt the rest.
A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409

Thanks for showing that. So the 3-1/2" #5 will have less shot I was hoping it would be closer. I guess these will have a little further range but with fewer pellets. I'll probably go back to the 3" #6 when I can get them nearby again.

Appreciate the info!
