Hard to beat a long box for its versatility spring or fall seasons so its Billy Bush or Ralph Snodgrass.
A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409

Hard to beat this advice.  I'd go Billy Bush Beggin' Machine and a Ralph Snodgrass mini boat paddle.

well it sounds like you need two,,one broke on ya what if that would have been during the season,,,I would get a fiddlebox or a Dawkins shortbox and also a longbox by Wittenberg or Steve Mann,,then you have quality, variety, and insurance.

My favorite is a Marlin Watkins fiddlebox. He also doesn't have a list so you can contact him and get one straight away from what he has made already.
Tj Johnson is another great one, but he is probably gonna be about a 4-5 month wait for you if I had to guess.
If you like cost-style boxes I really like mine that were built by Frank Kruer III. Albert Paul is another that I have had experience with and enjoy. But I do not know the wait times for those two
Is frank still making calls?
