Using tobbacco products.I havent had a dip of timberwolf in 7 days.Yes it is bothering me but im not gonna get any.Actually my mouth feels better than it ever has. Its hard oh so hard to do but i think i can.
Hang in there, it'll get easier. Just think about your little girl, by quiting you will probably have all your teeth and lips for those graduation pictures, wedding pictures ect.! I'm sure she will be thankful.
Hang in there, Buddy. It can be done.. I chewed a sleeve and a half of Copenhagan a week, for ten years. I always had a chew in my lip.. I have not had a dip in over twenty years. No more raw gums..Be strong..It is not easy..Mike
You absolutely can do it! I quit cold turkey two years ago after 25 years and have not had any desire to go back. If the urge hits you, go find something to do and it will pass. Hang in there.
Good for you .
Been there, done that. You will thank yourself both physically and economically for the rest of your life. Beware there will be withdrawals at certain times like seven days, seven months, seven years ,etc. The cost of tobacco products alone is unreal.
Three dollars for a carton of Red Man or sleave of Skoal or Cope is no more.
Even if they handed it out free I will not touch it today.
It gets easier. Been "clean" (Dip, Chew & Cigs) for 30 years and counting. Good days, lead to good weeks, lead to good months etc... :anim_25:
Congrats! :icon_thumright: Keep up the good work. One day at a time my OG brother..
You are not alone. I was dipping a can of skoal a day and stopped cold turkey two weeks ago today. There are times when my mouth will water thinking about it, but I just say a short prayer and move forward.
I have stopped before for 2 years and then got a dip while fishing and started again.
Stopping cold turkey was tough and at the same time stop drinking 1/2. Dozen diet mt dews a day. Besides being grumpy and short tempered for 3 days, I could not keep my eyes open. Lol sleep and feel a ton better now.
Good luck

Best thing I've ever done was to quit smoking 21 years ago. My wife and I both quit at the same time and after six months bought ourselves a "reward". I got a fancy Orvis fly rod, and she got a ring.
Keep at it!
The next time you're Jones'n for a dip, take a look at this photo of Mouth Cancer. That should take away the urge.

If you have made up your mind you can do it. I smoked for twenty five years and quit cold turkey over fifteen years ago and yes I feel better and food tastes better also. Good luck on a hard battle.

Im glad for you! I have tried quitting dip for about a week and i just cant resist the urge :/ That ol' Cope Straight does a hurting on me. Prayers sent out for you and your trying to quit.
Keep it up man. I quit cold turkey, have fallen off the wagon and am trying to quit again. Do it once and be done with it. I hate the stuff and think it should be outlawed, and yes my family has grown tobacco for since the days of Boone; and I have have worked it myself many summers. BUT, those days are gone. People know what it does and I think it's stupid that a substance that is more addictive than heroin and potentially fatal is sold over the counter. I might be stirring the pot but if the government is worried about the taxes it would loose if tobacco was banned and the farmers are worried about lost income I know of another plant that is already generating astronomical revenue that is in my opinion far less dangerous than tobacco. ;)
just an update. Its rough.I wanted a dip all day for some reason. I went to the store that i normally buy my dip at to get gas and when i got inside the guy at the counter ask me me how many cans i needed(he does this everytime i go in cuz hes used to me telling 3 or 4) but today i told him none and he said what i said i QUIT.He said well good but not for me though.ITS HARD GUYS BUT IM DOING THIS.
Hang tough, when the nicotine leaves your system it will get easier (you are fighting a habit and a drug).

We are creatures of habit or that's the saying anyway. But a lot of that is brought on by each of us that decides to do or try something we know we shouldn't but we say ahh what the heck. I was one of them and I dipped for 29yrs. I had one guy that I ran around with influence me to try this stuff when I was 13. That was my own fault, but I gave in. We all have to make decisions in life, but we have to also learn to just say no. I have been dip free going on almost 4yrs now I think. Heck I have lost count. I don't even think about it anymore even if I am hunting or fishing. Oh the thought is there that I have it in the back of my mind that I used to do it, but the desire no longer is there to want to even do it even when doing the stuff I seemed to dip the most. You just got to be strong and condition your brain that I will beat this bad habit. If I can do it, so can you.
Keep at at, Nicotine is one of the strongest addictions. I quit ciggerates about 10 15 years ago and it is the best choice I ever made.
Congrats on quitting!! Keep up the fight, you CAN win this battle!! I haven't had a dip in over 7months! :you_rock:
WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!!!! I hope that you can be an example for your friends to see that it can be done. I'm sure your wife and daughter are very proud of you.
