The vest thread got me wondering. How many states and days hunting is everyone trying for this Spring? I know it's a ways off but I hate deer and ducks never interested me.
I don't work during turkey season so I'll hunt everyday except Easter Sunday or if it's an absolute monsoon rain day. Planning on 3 states plus home state of La. I'm not into the state slam and I'm over the grand slam my only interest is Easterns or the occasional Osceola so I usually stay in the same state till I get my limit or the season runs out so I try for 3-4 states a year some years I make all 4 some years I get hung up with a particular Gobbler and don't make all 4 sometimes I end up looking for another state when I'm out of tags.
I usually look for more scenic areas to hunt than maybe the most populated hunting areas. I would prefer to battle a single mountain gobbler for a week than run thru three 2year olds in a place with a higher concentration of birds, which also makes for less crowded hunting areas. I'm hoping for 40-50 mornings this spring with gobbling on everyone.
I'll do Ky. and at home in Ohio. I would like to hunt South Dakota, but I have no plans as of yet. My daughter lives in central S.D. so I have free lodging.
For sure gonna be hunting MO/KS/NE. Making arrangements to hunt FL/AL for the early season, but definitely one of the two. Also looking to add IA and an OK Rio to that list if possible, but gonna easily have 50+ days myself just between 4 or 5 states.
Already itching for it to start big time, even though I've kept myself plenty busy chasing ducks and geese.
FL for sure and TN at home. Looking into either IL or IA.

Two states for me. MD and Wv. AL I hunt are mountain birds and I am thankful for it. I seem to be taking kids as much as I hunt for myself anymore so that keeps me occupied. Maybe one day I will get to hunt some mountain birds in other states but I have no desire to travel for a Rio or Merriams.

Best of luck in all area's but especially OK will be there Spring of 2020 or 2021 for family and Rio's.
To OP depending on the shoulder I might actually get to hunt 2 states this year, the Mennonite that I drive for has a son that wants to hunt PA and they have offered to pay for my lodging and my license to drive them in their vehicle if we do go. That would be Eastern's of course.
I try to hunt a couple new states each year. Wisconsin, Georgia, Tennessee, and Illinois are the ones I'm focusing for now. Unfortunately my occupation will keep me from hunting all of them so I need to make a choice before to long.

I will only be in one state but between Learn to Hunt programs, youth Season, a Charity Hunt I volunteered for, my friends and a few of my own tags I'll have in around 20 hunts this spring my 29th year and counting! :)
MK M GOBL
TX, FL and I may try LA this spring as I can get to some public land there in 1.5 hours.
Season #51 coming up. Between taking kids, friends and new hunters. I usually have about 20- 25 hunts in the mountains of PA, WV and Md. each season. Always hunt the mountains.
Looks like I'll hit MO, and I would like to get FL under my belt.
Probably going to be a limited season for me. :(
With an impending total shoulder replacement surgery needed, along with drawing nothing in my home state of Florida....ONCE AGAIN >:(, I'll likely just be hunting at my lease in SC, possibly Bama, Georgia and Kansas too.
My main goal is to get at least one turkey, then get the surgery done, and be rehabbed by the fall deer season and be ready for next duck season and spring turkey season.
Here at home (Florida), Georgia and hopefully a trip to KY.
Gonna be home here in VA then head to New Mexico the last weekend of April, first week of May to chase some mountain Merriams
Dang Jim, I hate to hear that about your shoulder. That don't sound fun at all! :'(

Right now, just in PA. Lining things up, though, for a return to NE..........maybe WY as well............

At home here in TN and
Planning on going to AL and KY. Possibly KY.

It isn't David. This is my 3rd duck season in a row I've missed due to the busted chicken wing, and it's impeded 3 deer seasons so far, and this spring will be the 3rd turkey season it's impacted. Hate to have to do such a brutal surgery, but the constant pain and impact on my hunting has grown very old. I'm ready.

 ;D :TooFunny: Well, I don't know about all that, but I'd be happy to take some lessons!!! ;)
Other than Tennessee and Kentucky, I'm going to attempt finishing my slam in Washington. If I can get get done in Washington fairly early I'll try Oregon or Idaho as well
I have a week's vacation scheduled for the last week of the Kentucky season. Planning a trip in 2020 for a Rio.
I live in the Florida Panhandle but have only hunted Alabama the last few years. I use to consistently do well in Florida but the areas I hunt in Alabama are top shelf. Anyway, I won a quota permit for the first 9 days of season for a FL WMA that is only 20 minutes from my house (I moved in September). I'm off that week so I'm going to start in Florida before heading to my AL lease. I'm excited about hunting a new area in my home state.
The plan is:
TX (paying for self-guided hunt on ranch)
VA (hunting friends place)
MD (hunting out back of our house)
RI (paying for guided hunt - fingers crossed the guy can get me onto the farm he has in mind). This state has been a huge challenge to get onto.
MA (hunting public land)
NH ("guiding" (I am still pretty much a beginner) a friend on land we have secured permission for)
CO ("guiding" (I am still pretty much a beginner) a friend on public land-no idea what I am doing out west! Should be fun!)
In that order.
The goal is to do all the states.
Dejake, i need to cross DE off the list but am having zero success finding a private land place to go. I see you are going to hit DE this spring. Any suggestions?
Gonna be staying close to home and hunting in Ontario, Canada this year. Maybe sneak down to NY or PA if I can figure it out
South Carolina (outfitter)
Maryland (leases)
Pennsylvania (public land)
In that order
Probably just Maryland for me but plenty of tags between my buddies and I and now my soon to be 6 year old. Maybe PA if I have some money to burn.
Florida for sure got drawn for a WMA. Then home state of Louisiana and some Mississippi mixed in due to living close. Figure I'll ease over to Texas as well being I already have a license from deer season. Looking at Wisconsin as well, work with a guy that lives there, but missed the drawing so not sure about that. Kicking around Illinois if I head north.

Should be a fun spring and I'm already way too excited for it... it isn't healthy. Starting March 5th in South Florida. Road trip west, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Kansas seem to be the big contenders right now. Return home for MD, DE (if I can draw a public permit) and NJ.. Then head north for NH/Maine/Vermont?

Where will you be going in OK? Going there in 2020 or 2021 to visit family and turkey hunt.

Okay, further North than where I will be, I will be in Grady or Kinfisher County's
Home state of Indiana and maybe Kentucky.
SD & FL, maybe PA.
First time for SD.
Public land in NE and KS for early archery season with my Hoyt Carbon Element. Then a late season public land hunt with my made over 11-87 at home in IL on my favorite Fall turkey grounds.

Alabama (tentative), then Kentucky youth then back for reg season, Maryland, Pennsylavania, Kansas, New York and trying to squeeze in Florida at the beginning.....God I hope the wife don't read this!!
Adding a new state this spring I won a guided hunt on FB for a charity event and will be taking the wife to Massachusetts for a couple days in May.
First I'll start with an Osceola hunt with friends in March, then a 5 day hunt with my buddy in New Mexico which has become an annual event then hunt as much as I can in my home state of NY out of my camp in Tioga Co.
It's looking like a light spring for me just PA and public land MD

Just moved to Maryland last year so trying to figure the east coast out.
My plans are:
Nebraska early archery season
Virginia for their opener
Maryland for the opener
PA opener
NY opener
In that order-I've gotten a lot of no's but I've had some luck knocking on doors and ask for permission. Find it more fun that way
Only hunt my home state of MS but would love to take my son on a out of state hunt soon.
Louisiana, Texas and hopefully Tennessee.
SC except for the last weekend of March when I will be in Texas.
I will probably only hunt in Colorado this year. A good friend of mine who has never turkey hunted asked me to take him. I'll also try to get my dad into his first turkey. I'm hoping to have all of this done in time to fish the Mothers Day Caddis hatch on the Arkansas River, but that may be a bit optimistic.
NC, OH and then possibly NY if time permits.
A couple out of state hunts for me this year, Florida in March, NC in April, PA (home state) and hopefully OH in May...
This spring- GA, TN, NC, NJ, PA. Not as many states as I turkey hunt in the fall, but only so many vacation days...
just hoping to tag out here in KY
North Florida for me. Then planning Oklahoma.

SE MN and North Central WI.
Homestate SD, ND, MT, KS. Maybe NE depending on how quickly I tag 4-5 back here in SD.

Man good luck. My dad had that surgery 8 days ago and it's been rough going. Yesterday we thought he was over it and felt pretty good other than some soreness. Today he's hurting and sick to his stomach. They figure it's the anesthesia and it can take up to 6 weeks for that to get out of his system. Gets the staples out in a few weeks and she told him that it's going to hurt
Just Ohio for me for now. With young kids makes it hard to travel and stay over night for days. Once the kids get up older hope to hit Kentucky with family.
Texas and New Mexico. Would love to try for an eastern bird this spring, but I'm not sure it'll be in the cards.
It's looking like Louisiana, Mississippi,Kansas,Wyoming, and Nebraska or Oklahoma. After missing all of deer season from shoulder surgery it can't get here fast enough!

Fla & Pa for me
Skipping the home state of Louisiana and heading out early to MS.....KY for their opener and MO..... if things work out, might slip over to KS towards the end of the season.....

New Jersey and New York
South Carolina and Oklahoma for sure. Hoping for Florida if I can get some stars to align.
Wow, some of you guys really get around! Im gonna be home sweet home(NY) doin what I love. Ill be guiding for the first 20 days or so, youth hunt with my nephew, and then have last couple weeks to fill the tags burning holes in my pockets!

Will be starting in just 4 weeks down on "The Cypress". Going to hunt Talladega NF after that. Then over to The Chattahoochee NF. Back here to South Cherokee NF to settle in for a while. On up to Daniel Boone NF end of April. Finish off back here and then maybe, just maybe, head up to the Northeast to hunt a NF Memorial Day Weekend.
I'm jealous!

This year my plans include HI, my annual spring fling and new for me, GA. Still looking to bust my first Eastern.
Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see Michigan on anybody's list. There's a lot of birds up here!
