SS Custom and Greg Cooley.
Bob Fulcher makes a great one. Sounds more like a boxcall.
Olin Humphries is also good. Has the ribbons and awards over the last 15 years.
David White - Phantomb calls - also has a good sounding scratch box.

SOUNDS LIKE A REAL EASY WORKING CALL........
I have both SS and Lonnie Gilbert scratchers.
SS is a smaller call. The striker has a curved edge and a flat-edged striker does not really work on these calls... The call makes great clucks and purrs, and is easy to yelp on... I have tough to getting any volume on mine though.
I have two of Lonnie Gilbert's calls (cause I broke one and sent the other in for repair, and while waiting I ordered another). Also great low-end sounds on the call, but it is a bit easier to get more volume. I know own two of his calls, Butternut and Chestnut...
With the compact size, SS calls are a bit more convenient to carry, but there is not a tremendous difference in size between the calls.
I have a slight preference for Lonnie Gilbert's call, but would not hesitate to use either in the field.
I did just order a Chattahoochee Chatterbox, cause it looks like such an interesting call (and seems to have a good reputation as well).
I have heard very good things about Spring Creek scratchers, as well as Russel Beard's scratchers.
SS, Mississippi scratch box, Basehore, Tate Williams, Fulcher
Ive only had one, but my Spring Creek scratch box is 100% turkey
I have about 25 the best sounding one is by Olin Humphries.
Mike Lapp makes a really nice butternut one and Tim Bullock (No Bull Custom Calls) makes a great Mineral poplar...SS makes lots of great sounding and looking scratchers...
Russell Beard's Cedar Trashmouth is a good one & is really small & compact. But my favorites are SS calls.
Lonnie Mabry out of Canton, Ga makes one that is easy to run.
