Next I have a Gould hunt in two weeks. But the rio was my nemesis. 4 hunts to Texas and Oklahoma. Weather killed most of the hunts. Finally got it done. John Sinclaire slate call pulled these birds in and got the biggest one I did manage to save the tail feathers that came iff(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170408/6669faa5fca77146fc33560868f40fc4.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170408/441062a85c4e867ef865dd965248a611.jpg)

Congrats! Awesome accomplishment!!
Nice!
Congrats to you
Congratulations
Congrats, That would be fun to attempt

Thanks everyone it was fun But frustrating. I do not have unlimited funds or pto and so all the attempts thwarted by weather really began adding up. However I would recommend it to anyone to at least attempt it. Hunting turkeys in different areas was the most enjoyable part.

Congrats!! Which bird was the easiest and hardest?
Miriam by far the easiest
Osceola was the hardest although the rio took me the most time but weather played a huge factor

Congrats on the slam. Hoping to get mine one day if the good Lord is willing. Have killed several easterns and rios. Going to the black hill on the 22nd hoping to tag my merriams. Then hopefully will be planning an Osceola hunt in the future.
I can recommend two great Osceola guides to go with or point you in the direction of some good public land but it is tough to draw

Nice!! Congrats on both!!
That is awesome, very envious of your adventure! Would love to hear your testimonial on a Osceola and goulds outfitter if you have a chance! Where about in TX did you end up taking your rio? Looks to be somewhere in the high plains portion of the state within 2 hrs of abeline
Congrats! The rio is the only one I need for my slam.
Where did you go for the goulds?
Congrats!
Goulds outfitter rio Sonora brad fulk does an excellent job.
Rio I was near Altus Oklahoma.
Osceola I would book with Florida backwoods. Ratso does an excellent job.
I have been applying in Florida and Arizona for their tags and can tell you that you will be ahead financially by just booking with those two outfitters. Mexico was not bad just lots of traveling. You get to see some awesome country thougj

That's great. It must be a blast to hunt all those, in different states.I have only hunted merriams, but would love to go for the slam. It takes a lot of time, and money to do that.Congrads.

Took me almost twenty years to do. I am lucky enough now to be able to have vacation time plus a wife that loves hunting as much as I do.

Congrats. I can see a Goulds in my future the first year I retire. Just hope I will still be able to get up those hills.
