Why do we give our hard-earned dollars to people who so obviously hate us? I have watched a good bit of television in the last few weeks, with the 2 major party conventions dominating the news, just a while back. I have been appalled at what I've heard from some "celebrities" in the acting and sports fields.
These folks are mega-rich because we average Americans have spent our hard-earned dollars on tickets to see them and on products that they endorse. They are undoubtedly very good at what they do or what they've done, in some cases but being able to play an intelligent person in a movie does not make you an intelligent person. Neither does being able to throw, catch, dunk or hit a ball.
When I see one of these people make fun of the values that many of us hold dear, make fun of us for what we believe, make fun of us for being who we are or where we live, I am appalled! More than that, I wonder why in the world would I ever buy another ticket of any kind to see one of them get richer and more arrogant. Frankly, I won't.
I came to that same conclusion years ago.
:agreed: :agreed: :agreed:
Well said Clark!! :agreed:
It's never too late to support like minded people and write off those that attack our values. We are at the tipping point and we better hang together.
It's sad, yet we see more and more of it everyday. I especially can't stand all the political correctness. If you say something, mean it darn it. Don't back peddle the moment someone takes offense. :angry9:
Haven't paid money to see any professional sporting event or entertainers since Barry Bonds and Andy van slyke played for the pirates. College sports and the little league play offs are about all I watch anymore.
While I see your point and agree with it, let's face it. If I was to stop paying for everything that I thought might be opposed to my views, I'd be sitting in the woods naked watching squirrels play! Every movie has actors that have views opposing mine, every team has players, every company executives. Hell, a lot of the devices we view this site on are made in communist china! I would love to give my money to only those who support my way of life but the sad truth is it's not possible. Hell, even the Amish can't survive without outsiders!
If your sitting in the woods naked with squirrels.... watch your nuts :D

He's speaking from experience fellas. Those mountain squirrels are like ninjas. One minute all is well. The next, not so much.
I made it a point long ago to by American as much as possible.
Freedom of speech is part of our rights BUT those who contribute nothing to the freedom we all enjoy should just leave our great Country if they don't like it.

I feel I contribute plenty! I raise crops that help feed American family's. I raise beef that helps feed American family's. I work 10-12 hour days building houses and pouring concrete for American family's. I work a 10+ hour day and come home and work 4 more. Nobody is going to tell me how I should spend my money! (The money I earn producing an actual product). Anyone who thinks I don't contribute my fair share, come along for a week! We'll see who pulls their own weight!

What???? Who says he's even directing this towards you?? What's with contradicting everyone all the time?? I think someone needs a hug. Thanks for working so hard we alllll appreciate it. Feel better now?
I've often wonder what makes a celebrity an expert on world affairs and why people even care what they think or say.
This is why I have a DSD logo for my avatar pic now. Someone gets offended by my text because they misinterpret it. Allow me to coddle...If you are Not a Veteran you have done nothing for our Country. You have no right to badmouth it. Don't use your celebrity status as a forum to puke out filth while making your millions. Just leave. I won't miss you. This has nothing to do with a working man/family man. Go back and read the original post. Is that you Clark posted about?

Freedom of sppech is getting worse and worse if you work for a company and don't keep your speech " Politically Correct " see how long you last the world is going to hell and big part of problem is how easily so many Americans are listening to the wrong people like them million dollar actors and athletes
Let me coddle. I'm not a vet. But I have deffinatly done something for my country. I respect and I am greatful for all vets. But they are not the only ones making this country.

Whenever an issue strikes me hard enough, I write a letter to an appropriate source. Company, politician, etc... If you can take the time to post here, write an email to someone who has decision making power...
We have the first amendment, which I have seen from visiting other countries is a true blessing, but it is meaningless if you never use it.
He has a right to do what he's doing. The Niner's have a right to fire him for it. Probably won't happen in that liberal bastion, but that's their decision.
I have a right not to watch that team, and I certainly will exercise that right. :icon_thumright:
I hope millions join me in my boycott and the team feels the pain enough to fire him.

Well spoken brutha'...If you sing to the choir, only the choir is going to hear you...Join NRA, NAGR. Call or write your representatives. Write to a company...Let 'em know what you think. It may amount to nothing but it may, on the other hand, mean a lot. If you contact your reps. they view that one contact as representing multiples of constituents.
Not saying we shouldn't complain among ourselves but go that extra mile and make some noise where it may produce results...
I don't judge a patriot based upon whether he or she is a veteran or not. Most vets I have known did not wear their service on their sleeve. Many I knew for some time before I learned they were a vet. I have rarely been surprised upon learning of their service, their character having impressed me long before I learned of their service. The shameful vet is truly an oddity.
However, I deplore the "my country, right or wrong" mentality. When my government acts shamefully as it has done all too often since the inception of this country, it is incumbent on all of us to call our government out.
The rare rogue cop deserves not our appreciation. Other than he or she, no officer leaves his home each day scheming to violate the right of his fellow citizens. The stated rationale for the BLM movement is abhorrent and those who support them in any manner are shameful or incredibly stupid.
