Okay guys its a wrap for 2014 turkey contest - of the team captains would like to post their final score it would be great -- thanks - Shannon
The Roaring 20's were able to post a total score of 519.22 for 8 birds for the 2014 Contest including a 4-bearded pterodactyl that scored an amazing 111.188 . This is the best season our team has ever had and I am proud of our group of awesome woodsmen and women.
The Widow Makers ended up with a total score of 601.85. We were fortunate to get on a lot of long spurred turkeys this season. I think 3 widow makers killed their longest spurred birds to date this year. Great year and I'm very proud of each and every member of the team.
Trumpet Thumpers. Rough year for us.
520.28
Headhunters - 559.36
Thanks for another great contest, OG!
Congrats to all!
Gods of Thunder had a score of 599.4400 for our 9 birds.
Looks like we missed out on 2nd by just a little over 1 point.....
Got a great team of guys here, proud to be in the running for the win each and every year !! :icon_thumright:
Choot 'em N-D Face ended up with 8 toms and 507.965 points
not bad for a first-year, late-entry team
thanks for puttin on the contest.
our team is lookin forward to next year :gobble:
Team Alabama
644.4825
Crusaders
Total = 569.375
just saw this, wondering why this is this not in the contest forum? I like to have missed it.
Crazy question, but how does one go about joining a team or is it by special invitation? Was just wondering. Seems pretty fun and having just found a good place to turkey hunt it's got my motor humming for next season. Well, that and I'll get to hunt two states next year. Lol
So is this thing official yet? Haven't heard one way or the other and no announcement has been made.

I don't need a announcement. Its over.
3-peat!
Dragging out the announcement of the official winning team this long is ridiculous. It's bad when things can't be announced in a timely manner.
3-peat it is :z-guntootsmiley:
Dont spend the winnings all in one place.

If I was 14th out of 17 teams I would be bitter too. Better luck next year :z-guntootsmiley:

Not bitter at all chief. Thought it was all in good fun. Man to man we'll just say im doin' just fine ;). Seems like some take a "just for fun" a little more serious than others. Thanks for the encouragement though.
Some people take stuff too seriously. I mean arnt we all out there to have fun and enjoy the great outdoors?
Maybe I have a different opinion, but if I sign up for a competition, I'm going to do my best to compete and win. That in no way inhibits my enjoying the great outdoors. In fact, enjoying it with my teammates just contributes to the fun of the experience. Maybe I'm more competitive than most, but I've never been a big fan of the tee ball mentality of everybody is a winner. If that's how everyone feels, why do we even keep score in the competition?
Yeah. I come in and look at my beautiful wife, paid for house and healthy son and have killed several very nice turkeys so when somebody puts so much into a "just for fun" contest it makes me shake my head, laugh and realize i guess I finished pretty high in life so congrats on the turkey contest. Plus its not like guessing a booner buck.
Yep, that's gonna be 3 in a row. It's been fun being on a team with y'all guys, out of all the contests we have entered the last several years we have never been beat. The best turkey hunters in the world are from the great state of Alabama. :z-guntootsmiley:

I would pass on any pine goat to shoot a turkey in the face.
Congrats on the house thing and hot wife.
Yep I had fun! Just wondering from the top teams how many of your turkeys were killed on public land?

Oh I'm with you on that, I dont even deer hunt. I was sayin it's rather difficult to score a turkey before he's floppin.
I agree.
I personally didn't kill a bird on public land this year. But also didn't hunt it but twice. I see no reason to put much time in there unless I don't have options.
Team Guns 'N Hoses scored 482.4375. Yeah, we had another bad year. But not too bad for a bunch of poor cops and firefighters. Wait 'til next year!!!! ;) ;D :TooFunny: :icon_thumright:  :fud: :OGani:
Rough year for Tn Dream Team. 325.22 Congrats to the winners!
