I just picked up an 870 supermag camo two barrels a 23" and a 28" to add to my turkey killer collection.
i think I scored. I landed it for 350$. Does anyone have any choke recomendations.
The remington HD wingmaster turkey/predator choke that came with my supermag threw a nice pattern with 3inch hevi #6s 2 oz.

Congratulations. You made a good buy. I have owned several of those guns for years and shoot them on a regular basis. I do like the longer barrels but I have seen good patterns even from the shorter ones.
I see excellent patterns from a variety of chokes with those guns. JEB's (.655 & .660), Wright's #3 (.650), Hevi-13 (.662), Pure Gold (.660) and SSX (.643)
While those chokes have very different "internal geometry" they all work well. I see my best patterns with Hevi-13 shotshells. I like the 3" shells but the 3.5" shells also pattern very well. All of those chokes produce excellent patterns with either #6 or #7 shot.

Thanks guys. Plenty of options right there to try. I may start with an IC. I have had good luck with them in other guns I have. But since I happen to be a choke tube addict who knows what ill try before I settle on one. Thanks again guys.

I would add Jellyhead .660 or .665 to all those above. I have 2 super mags and both of them really like the JH .660 with H-13 6's and 7's and win elite extended range 6's.
My 24" barrel loves a .665 Jellyhead and 3.5" MagBlends
You've got a great gun! Same gun with 23 inch barrel gets very dense patterns with a jellyhead .660 and 3 1/2 Hevi 7's
I have had and sold that gun . I could not keep the darn thing from bruising my middle knucle when shooting the 3.5" load. 3 " was great .
Anything in the .600 -.665 was good in that gun. It is an excellent buy and I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks RAJ, I havnt gotten a chance to shoot her yet but I am looking forward to it. Although Im sure my shoulder and cheekbone feel differently. This is my first with 3 1/2's.at least through a pump.

I would recommend that you put some kind of slip on recoil pad over the existing one when you shoot those 3.5" shells. I shoot several 870s and they do have a pretty good kick.
The new SuperCell factory installed pad is a good one and if yours has that pad, you're ahead of the game. The older ones don't do much to help and really harden as time goes by until they're more like bricks.
There are several slip on pads that work (I like Shooter's Friend) but whatever you choose, I'd sure recommend that you use one, especially at the bench with those 3.5" or even 3" loads.

I will vouch for the Shooter's Friend to also keep flinching to a minimum and no shoulder pain period.
At the bench I use my lead sled dft and in the woods you never remember the kick.
