One of my customers showed me a picture of this turkey today that
he said was killed in Jefferson Co. AL this morning and he wanted to know what the heck it was that he shot. I told him it looked like a Silver Phased Eastern but heck I'm not sure, I wanted to find out what you guys think.
Thanks,
Chris.

That is want I have heard Lovett Williams call a Smokey Grey Phase Gobbler. I kill a bearded hen like that back 2005. That is a awesome bird.

Yep. Its a smoky grey.Ive never seen a gobbler that color but I have 2 smoky hens where I hunt.

				Cool lookin bird  :icon_thumright:

I hope it's going on the wall, at least a cape mount. That thing's beautiful!

Smoke phase. Very rare for a gobbler. More hens are smoke phase than gobblers.

Cool bird. A couple years ago I had pics of a jake like that and a few hens. I was hoping to see the jake as a tom but haven't seen any of them again since that spring.

Cool looking bird. It would be cool to shoot something like that.

I'd give up killing 10 gobblers to have the opportunity at killing a bird like that.
Hope he got a ride to the taxidermist.

Beautiful bird. That one would be full body mounted. I've seen a couple hens that color on a place I hunted in the past. Never seen a gobbler on foot that color but an older guy that used to hunt the adjoining property killed one. Here's a trail cam pic of one of the hens.

				That is awesome!

I would mount it...correction:  I would have a taxidermist mount it!
