Just saw these this morning. I thought I would post up as maybe a more economical 12ga load for some folks. I've never shot Salt Creek ammo, myself. Just thought it was interesting. $26.99/5. Test was with a patternmaster .665.

seems like the shot string at 40 yards would be a mile long. Those 9's have to be moving a good bit faster at 40 than the 5's. Not sure it would make any difference though, just a thought
So I have been hooked on rolling my own using recipes from folks on this site and others. I started doing duplex loads using 8s and 9s tss only, no lead. I was always told, to "load the heavier shot on top" for best results. Reading this load configuration is opposite? 5s on top of 9s? interesting...

9s on top of 5s.
I hadn't thought about the shot string. I don't have an interest in anything other than lead in a 12. I was just posting for the group.
