So I received my Omega LE trumpet from Mike Battey last week. It's desert ironwood burl acrylic with a flat-tipped faux ivory mouthpiece. The lipstop on this is even nice. Only 100 of these were made I think. It's wonderful to run! I had originally ordered the black cherry acrylic. We were messaging back and forth and he showed me the DI acrylic rods and I changed my order. This was before he announced them as a limited addition call. One of the few times I got lucky.

My Limited Edition DIW and black cherry acrylic should be mailing out any day now !!! Excited to get my hands on these.

Do you think that's because they're made by CNC vs hand? Or because they're such small batch? Curious myself. I know he's respected as a call designer and there's been talks on the site about his older slate calls, etc. And the few times his Alpha or Wind Talker trumpets have been brought up it's all been positive, but his name is not thrown out at all really.

Mike is obsessive about call design, many of my first turkeys were with his plastic pots. He has been "off the radar" for awhile but has really come back in spades with his new Omega trumpet. Great to see him doing what he loves.

Talked to Mike Saturday morning for a good while. He said he was going to get the last of the orders mailed out that day.
Also said he'd be at Unicoi and have some Omegas there, so............

X 2. The USPS has been horrible the past 2 months. I have mail received and sent that has taken 28 days! Worse then the Covid fiasco!
