Taken while out on the trap line with the Mennonite last week. I forgot to change settings for this lens or I would have some when they were closer.

If only I had gotten my license this year, did not even bother with the foot, would rather let it heal up for Spring turkey season. That is okay, crutches make a ton of noise in the woods, especially these metal ones for fat boys.
Keep posting all you take brother, I always enjoy your pics. Z
It has been hard getting pictures this year, there is a lot of mast on the ground this year, huge bumper crop of White Acorn in particular, so the critters are just not showing themselves in the fields much this year unless the tree just happens to be on the edge of the field which is how I got the picture the turkey. Last year I got all kinds of pictures.

Thank you, I had the time to work with the settings better than I did with the others. I wish I were better with numbers than I am, that is a major problem for me with selecting settings, I just can't remember the settings for each situation and I have to fiddle with it. I could shoot in auto but find the pictures when I get my settings right look better than they ever could in auto.
great pics. the dog one was especially good. good to see those toms out and about. one of my hunting friends just found one dead the other day with wart looking things all over its head. game warden said that it is Avian pox. sure hated seeing it. would have been a nice 2 year old next year.

Thank you for the compliments. Yes that is sad to see, the Mennonite I drive and I have speculated weather the much more frequent use of turkey & chicken dung on fields (Around here anyway, it used to just be used in private gardens now it is widespread) has introduced diseases that barn birds would be immune to but wild turkey would not be?
A few from today, it was fun watching him chase her then she'd get sick of it and turn around and chase them back and he'd start chasing her again.

Deers are on the moove like crazy these days... This morning saw a small buck with a female in the middle of a field... When the female ran away, the buck followed her, little buddy didn't wanted to loose his shot... :TooFunny:

lol I know which I have more of.
Not on the trap line, picking up some coyote dogs a few years ago. I was waiting in the truck when they were working the trade and this Cardinal kept getting on my side mirror and either looking at himself and liking what he saw or thought he was a challenger. Every time I tried to raise the camera he would fly off or the 70-300mm lens would not focus because it was to close for the lens. He eventually flew back to the tonneau cover on the truck behind me and I used me rear view mirror to get his picture a few times. All I needed was one looking right at me and I would have a full police booking set.

Yes it is but I gave it a jolt tonight, I fell down the stairs (18-20) and flipped and rolled the entire way. I just got back from the hospital, luckily nothing broken. My head, that foot right hip and knee are killing me though.
Just a couple more right now.
It only allowed me two shots before it took off. The third is a crop of the second picture.

Thank you, I am trying very hard to save enough to get a better camera by April, the lens I got last year deserves a camera that can take advantage of it's full capabilities and my current camera is not nearly on par with the lens. On a side note I was given two old film camera's one is more modern with a few lenses (A Pantex*) and the other is a 1960's Kodak Ratina C that has me very intrigued, that's one of those old cameras that the lens would project out from the body kind of accordion Style and really looking forward to playing with that I've got a couple rules of film already and I'm trying to get a few other rolls that'll work better outside. When I looked the camera up I wound up calling the person who gave it to me and let them know "Are you sure you don't want this thing back?" and told them it's possible worth ($600.00) and they told me to just keep it.
