After an illness where the vet said there was no chance of recovery I reluctantly had my 13 year old Drathaar, Greta, put down. She was losing weight and wouldn't eat and had trouble keeping water down so I felt I did the right thing. She was a great pheasant dog but more importantly a great companion. I will miss her dearly.

Sorry to hear that. It's definitely not an easy decision, but I think you did the right thing.
A tough decision most pet owners have to make...I'm sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss! It's a tuff decision, but the right one.
Hard decision but you did the right thing; Try to remember all the times she made you feel good and smile. :jesus-cross:
Sorry for your loss . :jesus-cross:

My heart cries out for you my Brother. I know your pain all too well. :cross2: :cross2: :cross2:
Very sorry to hear. Cherish the memories!
My heart goes out to you, Wyo.. I know how hard that is to do. It will hurt for a long time, but it was the right thing to do for her. She's chasing pheasants with my Springer, Hershey, as we speak. The memories will last forever..Mike :cross2:
I know that feeling all to well.... So sorry :cross2:
Bob,
I'm thinking of you...wishing you the best.

Man, I know what you are feeling. My Shorthair is an unreal 15 1/2 and she keeps hangen on. I dread the idea of having to make your decision. You wish that they would die in their sleep vs taking them to the Vet. I will not handle that well when the time comes.
Sorry to hear of your loss.

Sorry for your loss, it is a tough decesion but all of us pet owners have to make that decesion sometime.
I am watching my yellow lab who is 13 and dreading the day.
All the pain is gone and she is up there chasing phesants now free of pain.
Sorry to hear of your loss. It is never easy :jesus-cross:
Sorry to hear that. It's a bummer for sure.
I lost a good dog to a snake bite two weeks ago and her life long friend seems to have given up. She's just laying around not eating much and I really don't know what to do. I guess I'll take her to the Vet tom and see what they say.
Sorry for your loss but at least you can be comfortable in knowing you did the best you could for your dog and friend.

Me too.
Sorry for your loss.
Bob, I put my Lab down 10 years ago and I still miss her. We can all say you did the right thing, you know in your heart you did the right thing.....but.....it still hurts! I had my Lab cremated and she is in a little box down in my gun room. I still can't let her go. I have read where you can buy duck decoys with a compartment for your dog's cremated remains. They can still go huntin' with you.
So very sorry to hear it friend. Been there and done that and know exactly how you feel. God bless.
Looked like a wonderful companion. So sorry to hear.
Sorry for your loss... cherish the memories... :cross2:

Sorry for your loss. I'm sure she will be hard to replace.
Sorry for you loss. Know how you feel, had to do the same thing to a good companion, and a first class turkey dog, she had cancer. :jesus-cross:
