That's great! I did something similar last year. Took the bird home, broke it down, packaged it up nice, took it back, and gifted it to them. They were very appreciative. Did lose permission, which makes me think somebody must've chomped a pellet, lol

Quote from: lalongbeard75 on May 25, 2024, 07:27:38 PMI haven't seen anyone on either thread say they only keep the Turkey breast?
If its not just breasting out then what is it that you're, "not going to extreme measures to bring 2 pounds of meat home?" I mean I get that, "the meat is very low on your list of reasons," but what exactly are you taking off a turkey that you're only getting two pounds of meat? If what you said is true, there's a lot going wasted, but that aside the whole mentality reeks with, "Well, if I can find someone to do something with it I will, but I'm sure not letting it keep me from getting to my next state." It's a slob mentality.

General Forum / Re: Where to Purchase Lafuma C...
Last post by 10th Legionaire - Today at 08:05:38 AM
All of the links in this thread are taking me to sites that have multiple Lafuma chairs so I just googled "beach chair" and came up with a bazillion of course.

I did see a couple that look like they might be suitable for the turkey woods with a rattle can paint job

https://www.rei.com/product/150393/neso-beach-chair?color=GREY%2520CAMO

Little more google work and found same chair in a better camo pattern, but it's for a pair of chairs

https://www.neso.com/products/the-neso-chair?variant=32605558865980

This one looks good as well but "might" be a touch heavy for some applications at 7 pounds

I started using the Cabela's turkey stool this year and it's good enough for me

Raising Easterns we eat alot of turkey. Anyway you can think of cooking it, we may have tried. Between 40-60 yearly.

Harvested a dandy Tom yesterday morning. Took it home parted it out and drove back and offered it to the 95 yr old landowner. Ya shoulda seen his joy. Been quite a few years since we've had wild turkey, one of my favorites, he said. Made my season.

Team GOATS 2024 / Re: Happy's Post Season Recap

You had a good season Happy. It's ok to say I'm the one you met up with. Sorry we didn't hook up for more than a lunch. I  hoped to help you out a little more in that new turf. That area is really changed from the days I hunted it hard. Now it's heavy pressure and way less birds, you done well finding birds to hunt. Hopefully we'll get together and hunt next year. It seems a lot of good turkey hunters had tough seasons. While some just got out of their vehicles and gobblers ran up to them and volunteered to be shot. That's turkey hunting.
