Box Calls / Re: One siderLast post by The Lung - Today at 12:58:53 PMJeff's got several nice boxes up on the site. I'm having trouble not ordering that sycamore and persimmon. I've gotten enough turkey calls this year already. Well, maybe not lol.

I have helped others learn how to process deer and turkeys. So again you never get too old to learn from another Old Timer... IMOI think sharing meat is one of the finest ways to encourage new hunters into the fold. There's been a few folks I've gotten into deer hunting by gifting them deer for a few years until they couldn't do without it. I love giving deer to older folks who can't hunt anymore. This past fall a fellow posted on another forum how he'd gotten injured and wasn't going to be able to hunt and how he'd appreciate if someone could give him some meat. I filled a doe tag, processed it, took it to him. The meat was the priority when I went in and the priority once I'd pulled the trigger. X2 ... I agree, I have done the same with helping others. #6

General Forum / Re: Waste not, want notLast post by Greg Massey - Today at 12:38:09 PMI enjoy watching THP sometimes. I guess i'm one of the OLD TIMERS and I do enjoy my computer. I had to learn to use one in the last few years before I was able to retire. I will say I have the utmost respect for the Old Timers who pioneer the way for us Old Timers. I was taught at an early age don't disrespect the game you are chasing and just enjoy yourself and be thankful. Again, I eat what I kill and I do my own processing of the deer and turkeys I kill. I've paid the price as an Old Timer in learning how to do all of this from other Old Timers. For me,processing my own game just gives me a different perspective. IMO.

General Forum / Re: Waste not, want notLast post by lalongbeard75 - Today at 12:01:25 PMJust more crying.
I use unsuccessful Turkey hunter tears for motivation. Everytime I kill one I take a moment to reflect on those that can't figure it out lol. You know the ones. Haven't killed anything in years. They say they could have killed several but they still after ol Mossy head for the 10th season in a row. Self proclaimed old school hunters that haven't missed an episode of THP in 3 years lol. I got news for you old school Turkey hunters don't spend time on the internet telling you they old school Turkey hunters lol. The ones I know don't even own a computer. It's just a built in excuse for failure. "I don't show people turkeys I've killed" it's disrespectful. Sure it is if you ever do stumble across one and kill it you'll probably have tshirts made with your picture on it. The bottom line. When and if you ever kill one you do whatever you want with it and guess what everyone else is gonna do the same thing. There's NOTHING you can do about it. #10
