LEG RECIPE! for crockpot slow cooker. separate thigh from drums. Put in the crock pot, add 2 cups of water chicken broth or 2 cans of broth., 2 cans of cream of chicken soup, 1 can cream of celery soup, 1 medium white onion, and a teaspoon of garlic powder. Cook for 7-8 hours on low, separate meat from bones, place the meat back in crockpot, cook 1 more hour, and serve over rice, white or wild or egg noodles...

20 Gauge Turkey Guns / Mossberg 510 20 gauge?
Last post by Franklin7x57 - Today at 09:18:18 AM
looking at the mini with the 18" barrel, like the easy reach feature on the stock. But the stock is too short, the compact feels good but has a longer barrel. I can't find a 20 ga compact stock to replace the shorter stock. The kicklite stocks will work but not sure how the tang safety will.
My question is can you add more than one spacer to the mini stock?

The Lafuma is under 2 lbs, those are all way heavier.

2024 Guns N' Hoses / Re: I'm done
Last post by TrackeySauresRex - Today at 09:14:08 AM
A tough season for me as well. My preseason scouting looked pretty good and felt a good season to be on the way. The birds disappearing and lack of gobbling was a major disappointment. That's how it goes sometimes for us. HEY.... I could have missed one and it wouldda been a lot worse  :funnyturkey:
This week, I had one semi interested and tried everything to get him. He never committed and I can bet he's gobbling right now.
I'm hoping for a couple of days in next week. My home state birds did not cooperate at all and the season and is now closed.
More to follow.

Quote from: Spitten and drummen on April 15, 2024, 11:58:35 PMTo be honest , I have a whole lot of trumpets and it really doesn't matter which one I pull out. They are all good and unlike other turkey calls , a trumpet is unique in the sense that if you draw on them with your style of play then most work about the same. I can run a Prudhomme , a Kp , a Lapp , a permar and any other that I have in my collection and kill birds. To my ear and the way I play , they all sound pretty close the same. Just my opinion.
I agree with this. I traded a call for a battey trumpet (200+$) and then decided to try the Mosses Creek WingWood (25$ shipped) and when it came in and i ran the wingwood, I was blown away with how similar they sounded to my ear. So I took them outside and done a video sound file with each in the same video and if it wasn't for me physically showing each one before I played them, you'd swear I never changed calls.

Team GOATS 2024 / Re: Happy's Post Season Recap
Last post by GobbleNut - Today at 08:32:12 AM
Good recap and pictures, Nick.  Sounds like you accomplished the goals you set. One other goal you did not mention is that you carried some of us old GOATS along in the "trash talking" department with the other teams. I, personally, got a lot of good laughs out of that.  Let's face it...that is one of the most important goals we have on this team, and you succeeded admirably in that regard.  ;D  :D
